Tempe has been rated a top city to live in Arizona for years and for good reason! The city of Tempe is quite small, but with its close vicinity to Phoenix, it has easy access to big city amenities and conveniences. It’s also tucked behind the infamous Camelback Mountain, which residents can see from almost anywhere in town.

Things to know about Tempe

There is much to do in Tempe, from shopping, to great restaurants and really fun activities; like epic water parks, the Fiesta Bowl, and an annual music festival to name a few. 

There are many smaller neighborhood areas within Tempe but for ease of understanding we’ll say the area is split into North Tempe and South Tempe. North Tempe is a more densely populated area and is close to the Arizona State University (ASU). South Tempe is considered to be more family friendly with more open spaces.

While you might assume that a close proximity to a college would be a downside, but in fact, it creates a youthful glow to the entire area. It’s hardly a burden, and more of a constant refreshed feeling that is felt through local events and modern eateries.
