Chandler has a diverse community and a vibrant culture. The city’s downtown area has been developed into a vibrant destination for shopping, dining, golf courses, and entertainment.
 
Chandler is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise with over 80 parks and green spaces. These included Tumbleweed Park, which offers sports fields and playgrounds, and the Veterans Oasis Park, which features hiking trails, fishing, and a wildlife sanctuary. The city is also known for its golf courses and proximity to many lakes, which offer a wide range of water sports opportunities.
 
Some of Chandler’s more popular, family-friendly things to do are to visit the Arizona Railway Museum, play at the Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center, and spend an afternoon climbing throughout the tropical-themed play center, Makutu’s Island! (Quite frankly, all of these sound exciting – we wish there were adult versions of these places in Chandler!)  But most uniquely, Chandler is home to an annual Ostrich festival!

When Chandler was first settled, agriculture was its main infrastructure; there were farms for cotton, corn, and alfalfa. Eventually ostrich farms were introduced to the Chandler area, and so the demand for ostrich plumes grew exponentially. Now the city hosts its annual Ostrich festival!
 
While the Ostrich Festival may be enough to draw you to move here, there are also plenty of other annual events Chandler is known for; such as the Downtown Chandler Art Walk, the annual Jazz Festival, and the Chandler Chuck Wagon cook-off!
 
Now, if the Ostrich Festival hasn’t sold you on living in Chandler, then how about its educational system? Chandler is home to several highly-rated public and private schools. Additionally, the city is home to Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus, which offers a variety of degree programs.
