Residents of Carefree love the proximity of their small town to the Sonoran Desert. As well as the lack of traffic, fresh air, and overall tranquility here. The center of town surrounds the infamous Carefree sundial, which is claimed to be the largest in the Western Hemisphere, and while we’re not sure if that’s something to celebrate, it is a staple piece of the community.
