Chandler

Neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona

Living in Chandler, Arizona

Bordered by Tempe and Mesa, Chandler Arizona is a highly coveted area to live in the Phoenix Metro area. It’s even frequently listed as one of the best places to live in all of Arizona! The city prides itself on its residents’ active lifestyles and vibrant downtown area. This east valley neighborhood of Phoenix has a lot to offer and plenty of unique things to do throughout the year.

The entire area is known throughout Phoenix for being a technology hub and innovative center. This is because the world renowned computer chip manufacturer, Intel has a base in Chandler. The company is the largest employer in Chandler and has had an influential role in how the area has grown and the design of local infrastructure.

Not only does this neighborhood have a tech homebase, but it’s also known for its diverse community and vibrant culture. There are plenty of delicious eateries to enjoy and great golf courses, and overall plenty of family friendly things to do as well.

Some of Chandler’s more popular, family friendly things to do is visit the Arizona Railway Museum, play at the Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center and spend an afternoon climbing throughout the tropical themed play center, Makutu’s Island! (Quite frankly, all of these sound exciting – we wish there were adult versions of these places in Chandler!)  But most uniquely, Chandler is home to an annual Ostrich festival!

Bet you weren’t expecting to read that!

When Chandler was first settled, agriculture was it’s main infrastructure; there were farms for cotton, corn and alfalfa. Eventually ostrich farms were introduced to the Chandler area, and so the demand for ostrich plumes grew exponentially. Now the city hosts its annual Ostrich festival!

While the Ostrich festival may be enough to draw you to move here, there are also plenty of other annual events Chandler is known for; such as the Downtown Chandler Art Walk, annual Jazz Festival and Chandler Chuck Wagon cook-off!
