Bordered by Tempe and Mesa, Chandler Arizona is a highly coveted area to live in the Phoenix Metro area. The city boasts a strong sense of community among its residents, has excellent schools and a ton of recreational activities to choose from yearround. The entire area is known throughout Phoenix for two things; (1) it being a technology hub and innovative center, and (2) it’s sunny climate. Chandler is home to the world renowned computer chip manufacturer, Intel. The company is the largest employer in Chandler and has had an influential role in how the area has grown and the design of local infrastructure. As for it’s sunny weather, Chandler has more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Meaning residents can take advantage of all the areas outdoor activities.

All in all, Chandler is the perfect destination for anyone looking to make a move to Arizona.

Things to know about Chandler

Not only does the neighborhood of Chandler have a tech homebase, but it’s over all a great place for business and career opportunities. Chandler has a diverse economy with major employers in the technology, healthcare, and education sectors.

Chandler has a diverse community and a vibrant culture. The city’s downtown area has been developed into a vibrant destination for shopping, dining, golf courses and entertainment. 

Chandler is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise with over 80 parks and green spaces. These included Tumbleweed Park, which offers sports fields and playgrounds, and the Veterans Oasis Park, which features hiking trails, fishing, and a wildlife sanctuary. The city is also known for its golf courses and proximity to many lakes, which offer a wide range of water sports opportunities.

Some of Chandler’s more popular, family friendly things to do is visit the Arizona Railway Museum, play at the Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center and spend an afternoon climbing throughout the tropical themed play center, Makutu’s Island! (Quite frankly, all of these sound exciting – we wish there were adult versions of these places in Chandler!)  But most uniquely, Chandler is home to an annual Ostrich festival!

When Chandler was first settled, agriculture was it’s main infrastructure; there were farms for cotton, corn and alfalfa. Eventually ostrich farms were introduced to the Chandler area, and so the demand for ostrich plumes grew exponentially. Now the city hosts its annual Ostrich festival!

While the Ostrich festival may be enough to draw you to move here, there are also plenty of other annual events Chandler is known for; such as the Downtown Chandler Art Walk, annual Jazz Festival and Chandler Chuck Wagon cook-off!

Now, if the Ostrich festival hasn’t sold you on living in Chandler, then how about it’s educational system? Chandler is home to a number of highly-rated public and private schools. Additionally, the city is home to Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus, which offers a variety of degree programs.
